Forged Belt Knives

Like most boys I have had an obsession with knives as long as I can remember.  It was the desire to forge my own blade that led me to blacksmithing in the first place and I have spent the years since working to perfect the craft of bladesmithing.  My forged belt knives are made to use, not hang on the wall.  They are simple, graceful, and functional.  Most of my hand forged knives are forged as close to finish as possible so they retain their forge texture.  This combined with natural handle materials gives them a look and feel that takes one back to a simpler time when a tool was a daily companion.

Woodland Series

These knives are my standard models. I make these in small batches. The blades start as blanks of 1084 and are forged and ground to finish and fitted with a handle of curly maple, walnut, or cherry. Specialty handle materials available on request. The Nomad is a handly little EDC knife and the Sojourner is a little larger for those that like a blade that can sharpen a pencil and baton kindling for the fire.

Mountain Series

This series of knives is the result of my continued efforts to refine my craft. I am continually trying different handle materials and styles, blade shapes and sizes, as well as different construction methods. Here you will see antler, bone, horn, micarta, silver, leather, copper… I am also getting a little more creative with some of the sheath work too. If you see something you like, please order. If you see details you like but have something slightly different in mind feel free to contact me and let’s see what we can design together.
